Positive Mental Thinking
A positive mental attitude comes from self-control. The only thing in life we have total control of is our attitude. Creating and maintaining a positive mental attitude will make you one of the few people in the world who chooses to control the mind you have been given. Most people cannot control their minds and attitudes because they have not persisted in trying to do so.
PMA, or Positive Mental Attitude begins with the realization that everything worthwhile in life began as a thought or idea. Those people who can take their ideas and make them into a reality do so through controlling their minds. These successful people have made a habit of doing the work necessary to take an idea and use every means necessary to translate the idea into a result. All of the things we manufacture began as an idea that was then made into a drawing and physical description. Each and every detail was clearly drawn or described in words. This process allowed others to take the physical steps necessary to create an actual object.
In a similar fashion, we can take our ideas and inspirations and build a vision or description of what we want, in detail. The more specific we are in creating this vision or description, the closer we come to making this idea a goal we can achieve. Too often, people have what they think is a great idea, only to have that idea drift away because they did nothing to begin to implement the idea. Taking regular, consistent, continuous action towards making the idea comes to life is the only way that works. A positive mental attitude means taking action to create something real. This includes ideas, methods, systems and procedures that may not have a purely physical component. As an example, a new type of computer software may only be certain commands given in a specific order, but the end result could be an entirely new way of doing something that was never done before.
A positive mental attitude assumes the best, expects the worst and prepares for both. PMA never surrenders to obstacles in the way of achieving success. Some of the most successful people actually look forward to failures along the way. These temporary challenges seem to energize the mind of the person facing them. Because the person with PMA knows with certainty that any challenge can be overcome with persistence, failures become a stimulus for calling upon the inner powers that are mobilized by challenges.
